- Brader Elementary School
- Principal's Message
-
Dear Brader Elementary School Families,
My name is Suzanne Wong and I am thrilled to introduce myself as the new principal of Brader Elementary. It is an honor to join such a vibrant and supportive community, and I am eager to get to know each of you as we work together to create an enriching and joyful learning environment for our students.
As an educator with 32 years of experience, I have always believed in the power of education to transform lives. My journey has taken me through various roles, including serving as a classroom teacher for 26 years and I just completed my sixth year as a school administrator. For the past year, I have had the honor and privilege to serve as principal at The Bayard School, located in Wilmington, and now I am joining the amazing Brader Elementary community. These experiences have deepened my commitment to fostering a school culture where every child feels valued, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential.
At Brader Elementary, I am dedicated to continuing our tradition of academic excellence while also focusing on the social and emotional well-being of our students. I believe that when students feel safe, respected, and engaged, they are more likely to succeed both in and out of the classroom. To that end, I will work closely with our talented team to ensure that every child’s needs are met and that our school remains a place where learning is both challenging and fun. Last year’s theme of “Here We Grow” focused on Brader’s dedication to fostering growth in all dimensions. Our team will continue to foster an environment where every child feels valued, inspired, and empowered to explore and blossom, knowing that they BElong here at Brader. The dedicated team at Brader is committed to this year’s theme:
“Here We Belong.”
Family involvement is a cornerstone of student success, and I am committed to fostering strong partnerships with our families. In addition to our Parent Teacher Team (PTT) we will also form a Family Community Council (FCC). The Family Community Council is a “collaborative group that involves parents, school staff, and community members working together to enhance the educational experience for students. It is a forum for open communication, collaboration, and decision-making to address the needs and priorities of the school community.” (CSD, 2023). I will be sending more information about Brader’s Family Community Council very soon.
I am looking forward to meeting you all in the coming weeks. Please join us for our welcome back event on Thursday, August 29th, 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., where we can begin building the relationships that will support our students throughout the year.
I am excited about the journey ahead and am deeply committed to supporting Brader Elementary as an outstanding place for our students to learn and grow.
Warm regards,
Suzanne Wong
Principal
