• Professional Trade In Days

    A Christina School District Trade-In Day is an activity that offers Christina School District teachers and specialists comprehensive learning, extensive practice, valuable feedback, introspection, and expert guidance, all aimed at catalyzing shifts in attitudes, insights, and perspectives to align seamlessly with the goals of the Christina School District's Strategic Plan.

    Christina School District offers Trade-In Day opportunities on the following 2024-2025 dates:

    Christina School District Trade-In Days must represent one of the following areas, and must be completed outside of the contractual workday:

    • Christina School District offered or approved workshops, classes or any curriculum based workshops
    • Christina School District Strategic Plan committee work
    • Completing a pre- approved online webinar with Building Administrator approval
    • Curriculum/ initiative training – e.g. ARC, Imagine Math
    • Instructional training – e.g. AVID, DataWise
    • MTSS Team training and meeting
    • National Board Certification hours
    • Peer collaboration meeting with reflections and product with Building Administrator approval
    • Plan writing (IEP/ 504 related; IEP writing, planning, progress monitoring) 
    • Planning time to prepare as a presenter for a Trade-in approved workshop
    • Planning, review and reflection of school’s  Leadership Priority Plan activity with Building Administrator approval
    • Pre-Approved School-Based initiative (must be pre-approved by Building Administrator)- EX: Graduation activities
    • Training for specific content areas
    • Unique Programs trainings/ meetings (Pre-approved)

    Hours are split into 2 deadlines:

    Teachers and specialists MUST accrue

    • 21 hours NO LATER than December 23, 2024
    • 35 hours NO LATER than June 18, 2025 

    All approval is completed at the building level. 

    Activities must be tracked through Frontline Professional Growth (accessed via app or Classlink). If a staff member DOES NOT come to work on the designated days, nor complete approved activities for Family Engagement/ Trade-In and/ or Snow Days, they must enter a Vacation/ Personal Day in https://www.dataservice.org/ for the time owed. Staff can report to work on these days, should they so choose. Activities completed in-person on these designated days are at the discretion of the building administrator.

    PD Days

    • All days are IN-PERSON 

    September 10, 2024

    PD Day 

    • Students are not in the building as many of our buildings are used as polling places. 

    • DOE has determined that this day will REPLACE the October STATE PD Day. 

    • The district will also have PD offerings on this day. This is an IN-PERSON Day. 

    October 4, 2024 

    PD Day

    • Non-Academic Mandatory Training Day

    • Use this day to complete all of your required training such as Child Abuse, Bullying, Suicide Prevention, etc. 

    • This is a VIRTUAL day. 

    November 1, 2024 

    Synchronous TEST and Virtual PD Day 

    • Synchronous Teaching(Half)/PD Day (Half) 

    • This will be our “test” to see if the student and staff technology and systems for a synchronous day have any issues.

    • In this manner, all students will participate in synchronous instruction for the morning. 

    • Following the morning session, STAFF will participate in VIRTUAL PD with their building. 

    • Guidelines and schedules to follow. 

    • This is a VIRTUAL day.  

    November 4, 2024 

    Grading Day 

    • Paraprofessionals are OFF. 

    • Teachers and Specialists complete grading, report card preparation, and progress monitoring for Special Education. 

    • This is a VIRTUAL day.

    Professional Trade In Day (Conferences) 

    • Paraprofessionals are OFF. 

    • Teachers and Specialists may “trade in” the time from parent engagement activities INCLUDING parent conferences. 

    • Parent engagement activities and conferences held outside of the regular school day may be logged with DSC to count towards trade in hours.

    • Teachers and Specialists complete grading, report card preparation, and progress monitoring for Special Education. This is a VIRTUAL day for teachers and specialists. 

    • Paraprofessionals complete building/classroom tasks to wrap up the school year. This is an IN PERSON day for paraprofessionals. 

    June 13 

    PD Day

    •  Classroom Clean Up

    • ALL staff (teachers, specialists, paraprofessionals) are IN PERSON to participate in classroom clean up and “check out” for the school year. This is an IN PERSON day.
