As parent, you are your child's first teacher and they take their feelings about school from you.  So, may I ask that you keep a positive attitude when talking about school with your child.  If you didn't like math or reading as a student, please do not pass this dislike on to your child!  Rather, encourage them to show you what they are learning.  Ask them how they know or figured something out.  And please, oh, please, read to your child and have them read to you daily - even if it's just for a few minutes.
