• Students are introduced to competencies involved in carpentry, production and industrial trades.  Students learn to work with a variety of machines and processes found in these trades.  The entire process is designed to prepare students for hands-on work while incorporating employability skills that are transferrable to any job.

    Basic Competencies Include:

    • Fill Nail holes with Putty

    • Hand Sanding

    • Clean Shop (Sweeping)

    • Measuring to the nearest inch

    • Operate Hand Tools (Hammer)

    • Operate Electric Tools 

    • Stain/ paint project

    • Clean Machines

    • Select tools for job

    • Complete 3 steps of a project

    • Assemble repetitive projects independently

    • Operate Advanced Tools (Table saw)

    • Basic Maintenance

    • Explain Steps of project

    • Measuring to the nearest eighth of an inch
