Connecting Generations Creative Mentoring

  • Connecting Generations Parents do you have a child or children at Newark High who you’d like to sign-up to have a Creative Mentor? Or maybe you or another individual from the community would like to become a Creative Mentor?

What’s Creative Mentoring you ask? Creative Mentoring is a program that pairs community members with students that meet 30-45 min. each week during the school year. Our Mentors are safe, trained, committed adults who spend time with a child who has been identified as needing some additional individual attention.

Connecting Generations Creative Mentoring program will train each mentor about the appropriate roles of a mentor; how to listen and connect with a child as well as how to handle difficult situations. Our training and mentor handbook will prepare you to build effective relationships with your mentee. All mentors complete an application and background checks.
