Christiana Viking Marching Band, “Genres” receives a superior rating at the New Castle County Band Festival.
On the evening of November 11th, the Christiana High School Marching Band performed their best show of the season. The band received an overall rating of superior, the highest rating at the festival. This is the 13th year that the CHS Marching Band received a superior rating at the New Castle County Band Festival. This is the largest band in years as the band continues to come back from the pandemic. During the 2023 season, the Viking band marched 71 students, and they premiered their new uniform at the New Castle County Band Festival. “The students were really excited when they came off the field,” says Mr. Dombchik. “The crowd of 1,000 spectators were cheering during the entire show, and the Christiana High School Marching Band was the only band to receive a standing ovation.” It is a performance that every member of the Viking Band will remember for years to come. The CHS band parents, faculty, and marching staff are proud of your accomplishments. Congratulations on another great season!
