Bank at School
-
Across the country, studies show that students lack basic financial knowledge. Bank at School is a program that teaches children about financial management by providing real banking at the school. The program helps children to take charge of their money by learning to save and spend wisely. The Bank at School Program in the State of Delaware is in over 80 schools with over 5000 depositors.
Students are given the opportunity to open a non-custodial savings account. This means the account will be in the student's name. Leasure Elementary has partnered with New Castle County School Employees Federal Credit Union. Each Thursday at lunch from noon to 1PM, a NCCSEFCU representative will be at Leasure accepting deposits from students. A student can deposit as little or as much as they like. Any withdrawals will need to be done at the NCCSEFCU branch.
Forms to open an account are available in the attached section on this page. Also, there will be forms at the parent resource center near the front office and our banker will have some forms for students and parents to fill out as well.
