Gallaher Elementary School is now participating in an initiative called ‘No Place for Hate’. “No Place for Hate, an initiative of the Anti-Defamation League, enables schools, organizations and communities to challenge anti-Semitism, racism and bigotry in all forms. By providing an innovative and powerful model for creating more inclusive environments, No Place for Hate aims to reduce bias and bullying, increase appreciation for diversity and build communities of respect. The initiative is free-of-charge, and is tailored to fit the needs and cultures of any school, organization or community.
The Philadelphia Regional Office first implemented No Place for Hate as a community-based initiative in 2001, and in 2005 the program was adapted to meet the needs of schools. No Place for Hate was officially endorsed by the Governor of Pennsylvania in the Fall of 2006 and is currently active in 220 schools, organizations and communities throughout eastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey and Delaware. Current media partners include Channel 6abc.” (Anti-Defamation League)
Gallaher students follow the No Place for Hate® Promise:
I promise to do my best to treat everyone fairly.
I promise to do my best to be kind to everyone,
even if they are not like me.
If I see someone being hurt or bullied,
I will report it to a teacher.
Everyone should be able to feel safe and happy at school.
I want our school to be No Place for Hate!
