Hi Parents/ Guardians,

 My name is Mrs. Monk. This school year, I will be providing support to students in our school whose first language is not English (ESL).  The teaching of English as a Second Language includes instruction in all the language skills - reading, writing, speaking and listening. 

The goal of this program is to help these students by developing and then further strengthening their English skills in order to be successful in the mainstream classroom.  I will be providing these students with a combination of direct English language instruction, and content-based instruction designed to boost their vocabulary and comprehension skills in the various academic content areas.
