Mission
The mission of the Jennie Smith Library Media Center is to provide an instructional program that supports the classroom curriculum and teaches students to become effective users of information literacy skills necessary for success. In order to achieve this we will:
- Provide quality, age-appropriate literature that supports the classroom curriculum and encourages the love of reading for pleasure
- Provide instruction to enable students to become independent researchers
- Provide opportunities for students to access library materials
Library Book Policy
Students in grades Kindergarten and First can choose one book during their library time. Since classes only visit the library once per week, students may also exchange their books during open library time (M-F 8:10-8:25). Students in grades 2-5 may choose two books during their library time. Students are always welcome to exchange books during open library time. Students who need additional materials for classroom projects will be allowed to choose additional books.
