High School Talented and Gifted Programs

  • The Talented and Gifted program is offered at all three of our traditional high schools—Christiana High, Glasgow High, and Newark High—these programs provide a diverse array of opportunities for academically gifted individuals. Students can engage in rigorous honor programs, take advantage of dual enrollment options for college credit, and excel in Advanced Placement courses that prepare them for higher education. Our commitment is to nurture the unique talents of each student, empowering them to reach their full potential and thrive both in and out of the classroom.

    Christiana High School TAG Program

    The Honors/ Dual Enrollment Academy at Christiana High School provides a framework for students to pursue advanced course offerings while also providing each individual with a comprehensive university transcript when applying for competitive college admissions and scholarships. Students have the opportunity to earn university credits* during high school, creating a seamless transition from high school to college, potentially saving up to one year of college tuition costs.

    Through an exciting partnership with Wilmington University, Glasgow High School is proud to offer dual enrollment courses for its students. This unique opportunity allows students to earn both high school and college credits simultaneously for each course they successfully complete. It’s a fantastic way to get a head start on higher education!

    Newark High School TAG Program

    The Advanced Academic Program at Newark High School involves honors and Advanced Placement courses that allows the student the ability to earn the AP Capstone Diploma™. Students who complete the two-year program can earn one of two different AP Capstone awards, which are valued by colleges across the United States and around the world. Students who earn scores of 3 or higher in AP Seminar and AP Research and on four additional AP Exams of their choosing receive the AP Capstone Diploma™. Students who earn scores of 3 or higher in AP Seminar and AP Research but not on four additional AP Exams receive the AP Seminar and Research Certificate™.
