  • Title IX

    Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (“Title IX”), 20 U.S.C. §1681 et seq., is a Federal Civil Rights Law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in educational programs and activities.

    Christina School District does not discriminate on the basis of sex, nor does it tolerate discrimination on the basis of sex in its educational programs and activities.

    Board Policy 2.32:  Christina School District board policy 2.32 details Title IX Implementation. The policy was approved by the Christina School District Board August 2020. Click here to view the policy.

    To ensure Christina is in compliance with regulations, Title IX training was administered to all potential staff that could serve as key members of an investigation. Title IX training was also administered to Title IX Coordinators and Investigators.

    Listed below are training materials provided by ATIXA, the Association of Title IX Administrators. The trainings listed have been completed by appropriate CSD staff members.

    Inquiries & Complaints

    Inquiries concerning potential discrimination on the basis of sex can be directed to the District’s Title IX Coordinators listed below or the Office of Civil Rights. The Title IX Coordinators' responsibilities are to coordinate the Christina School District’s efforts to comply with and carry out the District’s responsibilities under Title IX, including any investigation of any complaint alleging noncompliance with Title IX or alleging actions which would be prohibited by Title IX.

    Section 504 

    Section 504 is a federal law designed to protect the rights of individuals with disabilities in programs and activities that receive federal funds from the US Department of Education. It applies to ensure that eligible students are provided with educational benefits and opportunities equal to those provided to non-disabled students. 

     

    The Section 504 Coordinator’s responsibilities are to coordinate the Christina School District’s efforts to comply with the disability discrimination laws.
